Halo 3 is a shooter video game produced by Bungie. The game has the shooter experience in first person and had been initially designed for playing on Xbox only. As from the name, you can easily understand that it is the third part in the entire series of Halo games.
However, this part is the latest as well as the last part of the entire series. You can say that it is the closing sequel of the game. The game had started with the story of Halo: Combat Evolved and had continued through the Halo 2.
Now Halo 3 declares its end. At least, it offers a pleasant ending to the halo saga series.
The Halo 3 was released for public playing, on the twenty fifth of September 2007, simultaneously in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, North America, India and Singapore. In Europe, Halo 3 was released on the next day, the twenty sixth of September 2007.
It was also released in Japan but the exact date cannot be provided. The game had sold four millions of copies in retail outlets and the count would increase if other means of sale were calculated. It is a very popular and sought after game as can be seen from its first day sale statistics.
The story of Halo 3 centres on an interstellar war. This war is being fought between the human beings and a group of aliens. The action of the game is in the twenty sixth century and humanity is being led by the United Nations Space Command. The aliens, against whom, the humans are in combat, are called the Covenant. It is interesting how the game revolves around the life in that century.
The player in Halo 3 is a type of super soldier, the Master Chief. This is a very high post in that century and the entire game is shown through his perspective. He is the knight in shining armour that comes and strives to save the entire humanity from the encroachment of the Covenant.
In this pursuit he is helped by Marines (humans) along with another alien race. Obviously this race who call themselves the Elites, are the enemies of the Covenant. The leader of this race, Arbiter, joins hands with the Master Chief in destroying the Covenant.
This new version, Halo 3, is amazing in the sense that it has made the entire series of Halo games undergo a significant change. The vehicles, the weapons, even the concept used is quite different from the earlier ones. It is due to this reason that the game has sold more than eight million copies till Jan 3, 2008.
It is a highly sought after game and get the game if you can. It is completely worth the money. If you want the best first person shooter video game, I recommend Halo 3.
